Power Yoga ~ Fast paced like Ashtanga yoga, but does not stick to the exact sequence of the poses like Ashtanga Iyengar Yoga ~ Uses props such as straps and blocks to help align the body into different poses. The poses are held for long periods of time concentrating on the correct alignment and form of the body. Vinyasa Yoga ~ Fast paced intense stretching, with an emphasis on breathing. Bikram Yoga or Hot Yoga ~ practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees, with a humidity of around 40%. If you're just starting out or have never done Yoga before, we recommend that you try a few different types of yoga to find out what you like best. Nothing says you have to stay with one style, or you can combine styles. Your individual experience with yoga is referred to as “your practice”. Your practice can be ever changing, but the poses will never change. You will gain strength and more flexibility as you continue your practice, so you can change as you grow. Finding the yoga style you prefer will be well worth the time spent. Yoga is offered through many different facilities; health clubs, gyms, etc. If you practice yoga at a gym the focus is usually on the physical benefits of yoga, where as if you take yoga at a yoga center the focus could be more spiritual.
