When Does Teething Start?
Teething can begin around four months of age, and can last until age two, or later. It can take 1 to 2 months for a new tooth to come in.
How do I know if my baby is Teething and not getting sick?
Noticeable signs of teething are; crankiness, crying, and drooling a lot. The front of their shirts will be soaked. Teething pain will cause your baby to bite down hard on anything they can get their hands on, even their own hands.
While teething; babies can also get a runny nose, or a rash on their cheeks and chin, and their face is usually red and chapped. A case of mild diarrhea is not uncommon-but if a high fever or any other symptoms of an illness are present, this may not be "teething". You will want to contact your health care provider if you notice a high fever, or other symptoms.

Natural Teething Remedies
- Chewing on a cold wash cloth.
- Rubbing your finger firmly over your baby’s gums.
- Chewing on cold food – such as vegetables or fruit, that has been in the refrigerator. Banana’s are good because they dessolve in your babies mouth, making it safe. Use caution if you use vegtables, such as carrots, the baby could choke. Never leave your child unattended!
- Chewing on a teething ring, that have been chilled in the refrigerator. Keep a couple of rings on hand; one in the frig, while the baby has the other.
- Chewing on a teething biscuit, you can buy organic, whole grain teething biscuits, that contain no sugar or fillers (it is safer if baby is eating solid foods).
If you are going to use teething biscuits, be sure the biscuit does not break up in your baby’s mouth, this could cause choking.
Be kinder than necessary. Everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life.
